Welcome to these six classes considering the subject of “Life After Death”. These classes are an extension of the principles of the doctrine of Christ found in Hebrews 6:1-2. These doctrinal principles include “resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment” .
Most of you are aware of the many divisions in the Christian Church and the confusion that exists over doctrine and fundamental beliefs. Several research organizations such as Pew Research estimate that there are over four thousand religions in the world today. According to the American Bible Society there are about 900 different versions of the English bible. Estimations show there are more than 200 Christian denominations in the U.S. and a staggering 45,000 globally, according to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity.
These classes are not intended to be a debate over current issues facing the Christian Church today, nor are they intended to be a debate over doctrinal beliefs between persons or denominations.
The intent of these classes is to allow me to present my beliefs and understandings based on the “Three Standard Books” of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS). (Not the Community of Christ or the LDS church known as the Mormon Church).
The scripture references are taken from the Inspired Version of the Bible, the 1908 RLDS version of the Book of Mormon and the RLDS Doctrine and Covenants.
